There are lots of WordPress plugins for displaying a restaurant menu... but none of them ticked all the boxes: simplicity, Gutenberg compatibility, elegant display and clear structure for complex menus.
To meet this need, we have created LRob - The Map, a plugin designed for restaurants, bars and brasseries, carefully developed by LRob, WordPress specialist.
🍽️ A plugin born of a real need
It all started with a customer project: the Orléans bar Coal.
Their team wanted a site that was modern, fast and easy to manage. The problem was that none of the “menu” plugins offered a fluid experience in the Gutenberg editor.
Many existing solutions were still based on shortcodes, pages that were difficult to update or interfaces from another era.
So we decided to design our own lightweight, user-friendly solution that integrates seamlessly with WordPress : LRob - The Map.

The plugin provides complete menu management, designed for both simplicity on the admin side and performance on the frontend:
- Product management name, description, image, multiple prices, badges and allergens
- Hierarchical categories classify your dishes or drinks by section, sub-category or theme
- Dynamic filtering the user can display only what they want (categories, types, etc.)
- Allergen display and badges to highlight important information
- Native Gutenberg block no shortcodes! Content integrates directly into your pages or templates
- Multilingual English version included, full French translation supplied
- Import / Export back up or migrate your data easily

LRob - The Map is not just a visual tool.
Under the bonnet, it has a solid structure:
- Customised tables for improved performance (
wp_lrob_categories,wp_lrob_products,wp_lrob_product_prices) - Ready-to-use translation files (.pot, .po, .mo)
- Automated release script (compilation, packaging, clean-up)
- WordPress 6.8+ and PHP 8.4+ compatible
The result is a reliable, scalable plugin that is perfectly suited to professional environments.

Simple installation :
- Download the latest ZIP version from the “Releases” page”
- Install it in your WordPress via Extensions → Add → Upload an extension
- Activate the plugin and configure your categories and products
Note: For the moment, the plugin is not yet available on the official WordPress directory - so updates have to be done manually.
🧩 What's coming soon
We are already working on a number of improvements:
- More customisation options in Gutenberg
- Services“ mode (for non-food cards)
- Advanced search on the administration side
- Compatibility with other LRob extensions
And of course, other plugins are already in the pipeline:

and LRob - Age Verification, a simple, customisable age verification popup.
